Visually Merchandise Shopify Collections — With the Data in View
Automated sorting handles the everyday work of keeping collections fresh. But some collections are curated by hand — a homepage feature, a lookbook, a campaign landing collection — and for those, Shopify gives you a bare drag-and-drop list: product tiles with no sales numbers, no stock levels, no bulk tools, and no undo. You end up arranging products in one tab while checking their performance in three others.
Jedi ‑ Collection Sort Pro now includes a full visual merchandiser — a full-screen "Arrange products" editor, opened from any collection in the app, that puts the data on the cards and the power tools next to them. Here's what it does and how to use it.
See the numbers while you drag
Every product card in the editor shows exactly the fields you choose:
- Sales & revenue — items sold and revenue over the last 7, 14, or 30 days, or all time, straight from your store's Shopify sales data. Because it reads your existing order history instead of a tracking pixel, the numbers are there retroactively from the moment you install — no waiting weeks for data to accumulate.
- Inventory — live stock levels, including "oversold" and "not tracked" states, plus variant counts.
- Product details — vendor, product type, price, compare-at price, online-store visibility, gift card and subscription flags, theme template, tags, and created/published/updated dates.
- Metafields — values from any metafield definitions you pick (text, numbers, dates, booleans). Products without a value show N/A so rows stay scannable.
- Cross-collection context — an "arranged in N other collections" indicator, so you know when a product's position elsewhere might matter.
Cards render in a grid or a compact list, with adjustable card sizes — small cards to survey a whole collection, large ones to read the details.
Select by rules, then move in bulk
The editor's rule builder selects every product matching conditions you compose with AND/OR groups — across title, tags, vendor, product type, price, inventory, dates, sales windows, and metafields. Then one action moves the whole selection.
That turns tedious jobs into two clicks:
- "Select everything under $20 with no sales in 30 days" → send to bottom.
- "Select every product from this vendor" → gather into one block near the top.
- "Select products tagged clearance with stock under 5" → move above the fold.
Power tools for hand-arranging
- Precise moves — send selected products to top, bottom, or an exact position; swap two products; gather a scattered selection into one contiguous block.
- Quick sorts — instantly order by title, price, inventory, newest/oldest, or vendor; reverse or shuffle — the whole collection or just your current selection.
- Search & filters — search with live highlighting and select-all-matches, plus a status filter.
- Undo/redo — with keyboard shortcuts, so experiments are free.
Start from automation, finish by hand
The merchandiser isn't an either/or with automated sorting. Apply any saved sorting strategy — bestsellers first, newest first, an AI-weighted ranking — inside the editor as a draft arrangement, then drag individual products to adjust before saving. Sold-out placement settings sit in the same panel, so out-of-stock products keep sinking to the bottom of your hand-tuned order.
This is the workflow curated collections actually need: let the data propose an order, then apply the human judgment that no algorithm has — the brand story, the campaign hero, the product the buyer just told you to push.
Availability and limits
- The visual merchandiser is included on every plan, including the free plan (10 collections free; paid plans from $2.99/month — see pricing).
- The editor arranges collections of up to 250 products. For larger collections, automated sorting strategies remain the right tool.
- Like the rest of the app, it never touches your theme code, so storefront speed is unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Can I manually arrange products in a Shopify collection?
Yes — Shopify's admin lets you drag products into a custom order once a collection is set to "Manually" sort, but it shows bare tiles with no data or bulk tools. Jedi's visual merchandiser adds sales figures, stock, metafields, rule-based bulk selection, quick sorts, search, and undo/redo on top of drag-and-drop.
Can I see sales data while arranging a collection?
In Jedi's merchandiser, yes: items sold and revenue per product over 7, 14, or 30 days or all time, read directly from your Shopify sales history — retroactive from day one, with no tracking pixel to install.
Can I combine manual arrangement with automatic sorting?
Yes. Apply a saved strategy inside the editor as a draft, tweak it by hand, and save. Sold-out push-down keeps working within your manual order.
How many products can I arrange?
Up to 250 products per collection in the visual editor, on every plan. Bigger collections are better served by automated strategies.
